A charming 18th century holiday cottage in the conservation village of Castle Bolton, Lawson's Studio has a picturesque view of Wensleydale. Nestled alongside the village green and facing South, this quirky former artist's studio enjoys stunning panoramas, with the spectacular medieval fortress of Bolton Castle only 200 yards along the lane and viewable from the lounge. We are also proud to hold and consistently maintain a 4 star Gold Award 'Visit England' rating.

The tranquil bedroom with king-size bed and luxury Simba mattress offers beautiful views and is the perfect cosy retreat for couples or solo travellers. Whatever the season, you'll find our traditional stone-built cottage is always warm, clean and welcoming with comfy furniture and lots of those important little touches, including internet access, that help make you feel at home from the moment you step inside. Your very own Yorkshire Dales bolthole!

Lawson's Studio welcomes a medium sized, well behaved pet and you'll find most of our Dales pubs are pet friendly too. A fifteen minute stroll across the fields leads to the local inn: The Bolton Arms in Redmire, serving excellent wines, real ales and home cooked food. While many restaurants, takeaways and inns are close by, our well-equipped kitchen area also makes staying in a special treat.

For much of the year Bolton Castle runs daily activities including falconry displays and archery demonstrations and it also has a magnificent tearoom. From the comfort of the cottage you can watch many exciting events pass by the village green including the James Herriot Country Trail Run in July and in August the Adidas TERREX Coast to Coast bike race.

So escape the stresses and strains of everyday life, breathe the fresh Yorkshire air and relax - you've arrived. Local transport links are excellent too so forget about driving and explore the Dales on foot, bus and rail. Buses call at the castle and then on to Leyburn or Hawes; Redmire trains operate as far as Leeming Bar (sometimes by steam) and the vintage bus of the 1960s visits the glorious Aysgarth Falls.
